Artem was born and raised in Izhevsk, USSR where he began his dancing career at the age of 13. From the moment he began dancing, his parents recognized that Artem had a natural talent and that he would have a bright future in dancing. They were right! Artem soon became involved in competitive ballroom dancing, which would take his around the world dancing in dozens of different countries.
At the age of 21, Artem found himself in the United States dancing his way into a television career. Artem’s television debut in the United States began on the show, “So You Think You Can Dance”. He then headed to the UK to appear on the television show, “Strictly Come Dancing”, which is the UK version of “Dancing With the Stars”. Artem won his first season on “Strictly Come Dancing” and after dancing his way through 4 consecutive seasons, he made his way back to the US to appear on “Dancing With the Stars”.
Artem appeared on “Dancing With the Stars” through seasons 18-27 and on season 29, where he won his first Mirrorball Trophy with partner Kaitlyn Bristowe! Although winning the trophy was a huge accomplishment, Season 25 of “Dancing with the Stars” was perhaps the most life changing for Artem, as he was partnered with his now fiancé, Nikki Bella. Artem frequently appears on the E Network’s “Total Bellas” with Nikki and the pair welcomed their first son, Matteo, in 2020.
